Sedgebrook celebrates connection between authors and village at Heritage Open Days event

The connection between famous authors and a village was the focus of its Heritage Open Days event.

Sedgebrook celebrated the theme of Creativity on Saturday (September 9) by focussing on those authors with a connection with the village, such as John Donne, George Crabbe and John Austwick (real name Austin Lee), the Sedgebrook vicar who wrote thrillers in 1959, as well as the village’s very own resident crime writer Helen Golden, who hosted a question and answer session during the day.

A new children’s book was also launched by Elisabeth Carnell, set in St Lawrence Sedgebrook – A Teddy Bear’s Picnic in St Lawrence Church. Copies are now available to buy at £5 each.
