Deactivated machine gun stolen from army surplus store in Grantham
A deactivated machine gun has been stolen from an army surplus store in Grantham.
The Breda light machine gun was stolen from GI Joe’s Army Surplus store in Guildhall Street, Grantham
Police have put out an appeal for an information on the theft of the deactivated gun.
A spokesperson for Lincolnshire Police said: “At some point between Wednesday, 5 July and Saturday, 8 July, a Breda light machine gun was stolen from GI Joe’s Army Surplus stores, located in the former Argos premises, at Guildhall Street, Grantham.
“We are now interested in anyone who has information or knowledge about the theft to get in touch.”

Josh Rhodes, manager of the store, said: “European legislation has made it has hard as possible for people to reactivate these guns. My guess is that whoever has stolen the gun is just an opportunist.
“We try and make it as difficult as possible for anything to be stolen but unfortunately we had other stuff stolen in the past few months since we opened.”
