Grantham man stole meat and wine, magistrates hear
Motoring offences and theft were among the charges put to defendants from the Grantham area in Lincolnshire magistrates' courts recently.
Samuel Kenny, aged 43, of East Avenue, Grantham, pleaded guilty to stealing washing detergent, valued at £75.25, from the Co-op, Arlington Gardens, Grantham, on July 29, 2022, and to stealing washing detergent valued at £50 from Tesco, Harrowby Lane, Grantham on September 21, 2022.
He also pleaded guilty to stealing meat and wine valued at £56 from the Co-op on Princess Drive, Grantham on September 8, 2022, and to stealing washing detergent valued at £48.45 from Costcutter, Hornsby Road, Grantham, on August 24, 2022. He was ordered to do 60 hours’ unpaid community work and pay a total of £171.64 in compensation.
Jay Lewin Cockerill, aged 33, of Sycamore Court, Grantham, pleaded guilty at Boston Magistrates Court to driving a BMW car on Oxford Street, Grantham, on April 5, 2022, without insurance. He was fined £80, ordered to pay a surcharge of £34 and his licence was endorsed with six points.
Sanjaya Shrestha, aged 38, of Norton Street, Grantham, admitted driving a Ford Transit at 51mph in a 30mph road, namely Ryhall Road, Stamford, on May 18, 2022. He was fined £660 and ordered to pay a surcharge of £66 and costs of £110. His driving licence was endorsed with six penalty points.
Jordan Huitson, aged 29, of The Pastures, Long Bennington, admitted at Boston magistrates to driving a BMW car at 35mph on a 30mph road at Anwick on February 19, 2022, He was fined £66 and ordered to pay a surcharge of £34. His driving licence was endorsed with three points.
Sam Charles S. Harrop, aged 28, of Queens Way, Grantham, admitted driving a vehicle on Gonerby Road, Grantham, on April 11, at a recorded speed of 38mph on a 30mph road. He was fined £119 and ordered to pay a surcharge of £34 and costs of £90. His licence was endorsed with three penalty points.
Gary Hedworth, aged 55, of Brewery Hill, Grantham, admitted failing to identify a driver who was allegedly guilty of an offence. He was fined £660 and ordered to pay a surcharge of £66 and costs of £90. His licence was endorsed with six penalty points and he was disqualified from driving for six months.
Jamie John Kelsall, of Hough Lane, Claypole, admitted failing to identify the driver of a vehicle allegedly guilty of an offence at Deepdale Lane, Nettleham, on May 24, 2022. He was fined £660 and ordered to pay a surcharge of £66 and costs of £90. He was disqualified from driving for six months and his licence was endorsed with six penalty points.
Simon Robinson, aged 57, of Brook Street, Grantham, pleaded guilty to stealing meat and crisps to the value of about £200 from Marks & Spencer in Grantham, on August 23, 2022. He was given a six months conditional discharge and ordered to pay costs of £85 and a surcharge of £20.
Jack Brewin, aged 20, of Commercial Road, Grantham, pleaded guilty to using threatening, abusive or insulting words against another person in Grantham on August 9, 2022. He was fined £120 and ordered to pay costs of £85.
Paul Martin Fields, aged 52, of Bridge End Road, Grantham, pleaded guilty to driving a Ford Transit at a speed of 88 miles per hour on the A1 northbound at Foston on October 6, 2021, when the vehicle is restricted to 60mph. He was fined £307 and ordered to pay a surcharge of £34 and costs of £90. He was disqualified from driving for six months.
Adam Bunn, aged 24, of Dysart Road, Grantham, admitted speeding after driving a vehicle at 45mph on a 30mph road at Main Road, Anwick, on March 14, 2022. He was fined £133 and ordered to pay a surcharge of £34 and costs of £90.His driving licence was endorsed with five points.
Nicholas Andrews Cox, aged 50, of St George’s Way, Grantham, admitted driving a vehicle over the speed limit at 35mph on a 30mph road at Belton Lane, Grantham, on February 10, 2022. He was fined £133 and ordered to pay a surcharge of £34 and costs of £90. His driving licence was endorsed with three points.
Benjamin Dixon, aged 45, of Munton Fields, Ropsley, was fined £660 after failing to give information on the identifiction of a driver, who was alleged to be guilty of an offence, at Nettleham police HQ on June 16, 2022. He was fined £660 and ordered to pay a surcharge of £66 and costs of £90. His licence was endorsed with six points.
