Police stop driver of ‘grossly overweight’ vehicle on A1 near Grantham




Police intercepted a driver of a “grossly overweight” vehicle for multiple offences.

Lincolnshire Police’s road policing unit intercepted a vehicle on the A1 near Grantham today (Thursday).

The force’s specialist operations account on X (Twitter) described the vehicle as a “debacle.”

This was due to “a plethora of offences”, which includes the vehicle being “grossly” overweight, having no tachograph, no breakaway cable and a defective handbrake.

The driver was summoned to court and the vehicle was prohibited.

This was while on a planned operation with the Driver & Vehicle Standards Agency.
