Drone footage shows Grantham fire crews tackling blaze in container near Londonthorpe

Drone footage has shown how fire and rescue officers worked to extinguish a container fire.

At 2.07pm yesterday (Tuesday), Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue crews from Grantham and Sleaford were called to a fire in the open near Londonthorpe.

The blaze was captured on Lincolnshire Police drones, as officers worked to extinguish the fire.

As of 7pm last night, the fire service said they had left the scene, but confirmed that they would be be carrying out regular inspections.

Residents were advised to keep doors and windows shut.

A police spokesperson said: “Our colleagues at Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue did a great job in quickly responding and containing this fire.

“The Lincolnshire Police drone team are here to support partner agencies.”
