Father and brother barred from running Grantham pizza business
A father and brother have been barred from involvement in the running of a Grantham pizza takeaway.
South Kesteven District Council laid down the condition as part of the application for a new premises licence for Pizza Lovers at 7 London Road.
The July 31 meeting of Alcohol, Entertainment & Late Night Refreshment Committee heard that the premises previously traded as Best Kebab. But following an incident which led to a licensing review in March, Best Kebab had its premises licence revoked.
Now, Mr Erdal Ozdemir has sought a premises licence for the business which currently trades as Pizza Lovers.
Minutes from the committee meeting, said police had “no fundamental objection” to Mr Ozdemir gaining a premises licence.
But they opposed any involvement in the business from the applicant’s father Halil Ozdemir, who had the existing licence, and Erdal’s brother Erdogan, who had been involved in the ‘incident’ which led to the revocation of the premises licence.
The minutes from the meeting noted: “The applicant had no criminal record and had not been involved in the incident which had resulted in the premises licence being revoked at the March meeting of the committee.”
Agreeing to give the new licence, it added there would be conditions including that “Halil Ozdemir and Erdogan Ozdemir are not involved in the running of the business”.
