Chad explained that his dad was a “healthy, hardworking 49-year-old man whose life rapidly changed” on September 18 when he was rushed to Lincoln Hospital after suffering a cardiac arrest. Martin was maintained in the intensive care unit.

“Everyone said to me my dad was a fighter and he could do this and I really believed them," said Chad.

“Unfortunately, the ambulance took a while to arrive, resulting in my dad sustaining significant brain injury.

“After many scans it became no longer in his best interest to carry on active treatment as his brain was severely damaged. Martin passed away peacefully surrounded by his family and partner Melanie.”
