Mr Price told the guests that a lot of time and effort had been spent in getting the building ready, “ensuring the building was not just fit for purpose but excelled in all areas to offer the finest place to care for the deceased and welcome families and care for the bereaved also, but remaining sympathetic to this beautiful old building. It’s my belief we have achieved this.”

Mr Price has a substantial background in the funerals business, having worked for Dignity and the Co-op. He set up his own business in Lincoln before moving to set up in Grantham.

The company’s logo is a hand holding an apple with a nod to Isaac Newton but also to the care and support given by the business.

The business, which employs six people, also runs a weekly Forget Me Not Friendship Group for people who have been bereaved.

It meets every Friday and is an opportunity for those who have lost a loved one to meet up and talk with others if they wish.

A small donation is collected and this goes to St Barnabas Hospice and Cystic Fibrosis.
