General Election 2019: Independent candidate says lack of investment is 'dragging county down to its knees'

Independent candidate for Sleaford and North Hykeham Caroline Coram says Lincolnshire is being neglected to the detriment of its residents and businesses.

She said that people in the county were suffering because of the poor state of health services.

She said: "The Lincolnshire hospitals trust clearly can't manage itself and I think the whole county is suffering as a result. Grantham A&E is still not open overnight even though they resolved the staffing issue about a year into the closure of A&E. They cannot seem to manage those three hospitals. Essentially you can't have only two hospitals for a county this large."

She added: "When you neglect such a large county for so long, particularly with infrastructure, if you don't invest in helping people get from A to B quickly and help businesses get their products from one side of the county to the other they are not going to move into this county.

"The county is being dragged down to its knees by the Conservative Party."
