Grantham businessmen to open Café Indulgence at Wyndham Park Tea Rooms

Two local businessmen are combining their experience to take over the running of Wyndham Park Tea Rooms.

Martin Richards, 32, has seen his dessert delivery company Indulgence Delivered grow from a start-up run from home, to a successful town centre business on Westgate in just two years.

Aaron Savona, 22, has grown up working alongside father Frank, who for three decades has run Franco’s Ice Cream vans all over Grantham.

When the friends heard that the Wyndham Park Tea Rooms had become available, they saw it as the perfect opportunity to go into business together. “It was a bit of a no-brainer really,” said Martin. “Aaron knows the park well from selling ice creams and we already do cakes, sweets and slushies which will be popular there. It will be great to be a part of it. My missus and the kids can come down to play at the park and pop in to see Daddy at work.”

They are calling the new business Café Indulgence at Wyndham Park Tea Rooms, which fits in with their plans to retain both the café’s current identity and customers, while at the same time bringing in their own ideas and skills, including the introduction of an ice cream parlour. However, the pair say it won’t just be about desserts, with high quality café meals planned too.

Praising the support of Grantham Bowls Club and owner Gordon Storey, renovations are already under way, and they intend to be open before Christmas.

The tea rooms were previously run by Cindy Sutherland, who took over after her mother Jenny’s death.
