Grantham College’s higher education courses receive quality mark
Grantham College has been reviewed by the Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education (QAA), which has praised its higher education offering.
A team from the QAA carried out an intensive assessment of the college’s courses, finding that it meets all UK expectations for university level courses.
It found several areas of good practice in the college’s approach to widening participating in higher education and admissions processes; the comprehensive and personalised academic and pastoral support provided to all higher education students; and the effective management of partnerships with employers that enhance the student learning experience.
Acting principal and deputy chief executive Paul Deane said: “This is a great achievement for Grantham College and I am delighted for our staff and students as it is a true recognition of their dedication and hard work. We already knew how highly our students value higher education at Grantham College from our 100 per cent satisfaction rating in the last National Student Survey. As QAA are the guardians of quality in higher education in the UK, these results confirm that we meet the most rigorous of standards.”
Curriculum manager for higher education Lydia Spenceley added: “We are delighted to have received confirmation that our HE courses are of university standard. As a college we are proud of our staff, all of whom are committed to working with our employers, apprentices and students to develop higher education opportunities for the local community.”
