Grantham day care hosts doggy first aid course

A Dog’s Life Dog Daycare held a dog first aid course on Sunday, helping owners learn how to perform dog first aid for the first time.

The doggy daycare, in Hornsby Road, Grantham, brought in franchise partner for dog first aid, Ben Verhoeven, to educate a group of 27 owners on the aspects of first aid for dogs.

Owners were shown how to give full examinations of their pooches, avoiding poisonous substances like sugar, grapes, garlic and chocolate, and also how to administer CPR using a synthetic dog.

The attendees were rewarded with a three-year certificate of completion and the option to purchase equipment and carry out the first aid techniques at home.

The daycare centre described first aid as the “most vital thing to have” when owning a four-legged friend and, after the great success of its first session, hopes to hold another course in the future.
