Grantham defendants appear in court accused of a range of offences from assault to motoring misdemeanors




Defendants from the Grantham area have appeared in court accused of a range of offences from assault to motoring offences.

The following people have appeared before the county’s magistrates.

Benjamin Douglas Dixon, aged 46, of Munton Fields, Ropsley, was fined £660 for failing to give information to police relating to the identity of a driver who was alleged to be guilty of an offence. Dixon was also ordered to pay a surcharge of £264 and pay costs of £110. His licence was endorsed with six penalty points.

Krzysztof Goszcz, aged 43, of Kedleston Road, Grantham, was fined £660 for using a vehicle without a licence on Beacon Lane, Grantham, on January 17, 2023. He was ordered to pay a surcharge of £264 and costs of £110. His licence was endorsed with six penalty points. A case of driving without a licence was also proven, but no separate penalty was made.

Neil Hunt, aged 58, of Valley Road, Grantham, pleaded guilty to driving without a seatbelt on Dysart Road, on December 3, 2022. He was fined £316 and ordered to pay a surcharge of £126 and costs of £110.

Kevin Read, aged 49, of Denton Avenue, Grantham, drove a vehicle at 73mph in a 60mph zone on the A52 between the junctions at Church Lane, Welby, and Dembleby, on April 2. He was fined £228 and ordered to pay a surcharge of £91 and costs of £110. His licence was endorsed with three penalty points. He was also fined £228, and ordered to pay a surcharge of £91 for driving at 71mph in the same area of the A52 on April 5. He was fined a further £228 and ordered to pay a surcharge of £91 and costs of £110 for driving at 36mph in a 30mph zone on Main Road, Anwick, on April 8.

Adam Fraser, aged 24, of Station Road, Billingborough, pleaded guilty to driving without due care and attention on Welham Street/Avenue Road, Grantham, on November 9, 2022. He was fined £80 and ordered to pay a surcharge of £32 and costs of £110.

Charlotte Lydia Crake, aged 44, of Mussons Close, Corby Glen, was fined £660 for failing to provide information to police on March 20, 2023, about the identity of a driver who was alleged to be guilty of an offence. She was also ordered to pay a surcharge of £264 and costs of £110. Her driving licence was endorsed with six penalty points.

Reginald George Doyle, aged 26, of Totnes Place, Grantham, was fined £220 for driving a BMW on Shaw Road, Grantham, on January 23, 2023, when the per centage of light, namely seven per cent, through the front passenger window was less than that required by law. He was also ordered to pay a surcharge of £88 and costs of £110.

Emma Suzanne Parker, aged 40, was fined £220 for driving a vehicle on Dysart Road, Grantham, on February 4, 2023, when the vehicle was fitted with an exhaust which allowed the gases to escape into the atmosphere without passing through a silencer. She was also ordered to pay a surcharge of £88 and costs of £110.

Arkadeusz Skorupa, aged 30, of George Street, Grantham, denied but was found guilty of assaulting a woman occasioning her actual bodily harm in New Street, Grantham, on Christmas Day 2022. He was given a prison sentence of 26 weeks, suspended for 12 months. He was ordered to abstain from alcohol for 120 days and take part in a rehabilitation acivity for up to 20 days. He was also given a restraining order preventing him from contacting the victim or entering New Street, before June 27, 2024. He was ordered to pay costs of £620 and a surcharge of £154.

Oliver Thorley, aged 24, of Oxford Street, Grantham, pleaded guilty to two counts of using threatening, abusive or insulting words against a person with intent to cause fear of or provoke unlawful violence in Lincoln High Street on January 19, 2023. He was fined £533. A suspended prison sentence order against Thorley will continue and the suspension is extended by three months. He was ordered to pay a surcharge of £213 and costs of £85.

Steven Crompton, aged 40, of Hough Road, Brandon, was found guilty in his absence of driving without due care and attention, failing to stop after an accident and failing to report an accident in which two other vehicles were damaged on Wragby Road, Lincoln, on January 21, 2023. Magistrates adjourned the case for sentencing at Lincoln Magistrates Court on August 21.
