Grantham Hospital campaign group launches appeal for raffle donations

Hospital campaigners are appealing to local businesses to donate prizes for a free staff raffle at Grantham Hospital.

Fighting 4 Grantham Hospital will be manning a table top display inside the hospital canteen on Thursday, to coincide with the 70th birthday of the NHS.

As well as giving away cakes and soft drinks to staff, they are also hosting a free raffle, where staff will have the opportunity to win a variety of prizes, that have all been donated by local businesses.

Among the prizes already received include an exploding balloon, which will be used to hold all the raffle tickets, from The Party Balloon Shop, on Wharf Road, a floral posy from Julie’s Floristry, a family bounce session at Jump Revolution, cream tea for two from Teaspoon Tea Company, vouchers from John Cussells, a mini photoshoot from Harvey and Harvey as well as donations from Asda, Tropicana Tan, Boyes, Helen Lindley and Grantham MP Nick Boles, who has donated tea for two at the House of Commons.

Jody Clark, of campaign group Fighting 4 Grantham Hospital, said: “A few of us will be giving cakes, balloons and badges out to staff throughout the day, as a thank you and to boost staff morale. Thank you to all the businesses that have already donated prizes.”

Staff on the ULHT Grantham Outpatients and Orthopaedic clinics dedicated team will be joining in the celebrations by decorating the department and hope to raise funds to improve the hospital’s garden spaces.

They will be dressing up in old nurses uniforms with pinnies and caps and hosting a name the Gnome competition.
