Grantham Journal letters: Are these traffic lights legal?

I have been looking at the new traffic lights at the junction of London Road and Bridge End Road in Grantham, trying to work out what is wrong with them.

Then it hit me, and your picture with the article ‘Junction is accident waiting to happen’ shows it perfectly.

They have not been finished. There are no white borders fitted to any of the lights, and thus in my view this makes them illegal, as they do not conform to current traffic regulations.

Perhaps county councillor Richard Davies (executive member for Highways) would like to comment on this. I have no doubt he will be able find someone else to blame.

And while we are about it, how much has the LCC Highways problem reporting portal cost the local tax payer, after it failed so comprehensively to work properly?
