Grantham Journal letters: Local issues are town’s priority
Two recent Journal contributions have criticised our MP Nick Boles.
Stuart Allen pleads for some effective action on seriously urgent local issues, and thousands of readers must echo that plea, for that is surely the least we can expect of our local Member of Parliament.
John Andrews seems more concerned with Nick’s position on international matters, particularly Brexit, although since Nick’s position changes with the political wind, how can anyone draw a conclusion?
John rather demeans his case when he asserts that no Brexit deal of any description would satisfy anyone who voted remain.
Is he still in denial of the referendum result or the fact that the EU (Withdrawal) Act is on the statute book and the UK will officially cease to be part of the EU in some six months time?
Interestingly, people from both sides of the Brexit debate seem to think that no deal is better than a bad deal.
As for Nick’s ‘half-in/half-out’ half-baked plan, I suspect that instead of his ‘www.betterbrexit.org.uk’ website, most of his constituents would have preferred to see him promoting something like ‘www.betterho
spitalandbypassforgrantham.org.uk’
