Grantham man jailed for fraud after using someone else’s bank card




A Grantham man has received an eight-week jail sentence after admitting fraudulently using someone else’s bank card to buy goods.

Triston Price is one of the following defendants from the Grantham area who have recently appeared before Lincolnshire magistrates.

Triston Price, aged 20, of William Street, Grantham, pleaded guilty to two counts of fraud by false representation in Lincoln on May 2, 2022, by dishonestly making a false representation that he was entitled to use a Natwest bankcard issued to another person, intending to pay for goods for himself. Price was given a eight week prison sentence.

Tommy Smith, aged 21, of Oakleigh Road, Grantham, appeared at Lincoln Magistrates’ Court accused, on September 4, 2022, of unlawfully and maliciously wounding a man with intent to do him grievous bodily harm, two counts of affray in Ripley, Derbyshire, and of wounding/inflicting grievous bodily harm without intent on a man. He is also accused of assaulting a person thereby occasioning them actual bodily harm, on September 3 2022. Smith was given conditional bail and must next appear at Derby Crown Court on April 15, 2024. Smith must live in Oakleigh Road and will be electronically monitored while under curfew.

John Mason, aged 46, of Stonemasons Court, Grantham, pleaded guilty to stealing food worth £3.95 from the Co-op in Grantham on June 23, 2023, to stealing boxer shorts worth £38.97 from Boyes in Grantham on March 23, 2023, and to the theft, including theft by finding, of an amplifier worth £500 from South Kesteven District Council. He also admitted to possessing a quantity of cannabis in Grantham on August 5, 2023. He was handed a community order to include a drug rehabilitation order and ordered to pay compensations amounts of £3.95, £38.97 and £500.

Luke Grealey, aged 31, of Applewood Drive, Grantham, pleaded guilty to driving in Aire Road, Grantham, on February 2, 2023, while the proportion of a controlled drug, namely 25 microgrammes of cocaine in one litre of blood, exceeded the prescribed limit. He also pleaded guilty to driving at the same time and place while the proportion of controlled drug Benzoylecgonine exceeded the prescribed limit. He was banned from driving for 12 months and fined £120. He was ordered to pay costs of £85 and a surcharge of £48.

Sara Chilton, aged 23, of The White Lion, Bridge End Road, Grantham, pleaded guilty to being drunk and disorderly in London Road, Grantham on August 8, 2023. She was fined £50. There was no order for costs.

Carl Mason, aged 48, of Buckminster Gardens, Grantham, pleaded guilty to possessing a class A drug, diamorphine, in London Road, Grantham, on June 26, 2023, to stealing alcohol worth £57.96 from Aldi in Trent Road, Grantham, on May 28, 2023, to stealing cleaning products worth £32.20 from Home Bargains in Dysart Road, Grantham, on June 9, 2023, to using threatening or abusive words or behaviour likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress at Aldi in Grantham on May 28, 2023, to stealing beer worth £10 from B&M Bargains in Grantham High Street, on June 30, 2023, and to stealing two bottles of vodka worth £45 from Asda in Grantham on July 10. He also pleaded guilty to unlawfully possessing a large kitchen knife in Westgate, Grantham, on August 9, 2023, and to the theft, including theft by finding, of multiple items belonging to Lloyds Pharmacy in High Street, Grantham, on August 9, 2023. Mason was given a three month prison sentence, suspended for 18 months, and a drug rehabilitation order.

Jason Raado, aged 44, of Castlegate, Grantham, is accused of criminal damage to a window, valued at £150, belonging to Duncan&Topliss in Grantham on July 13, 2023, and of being drunk and disorderly in the Isaac Newton Shopping Centre, Grantham, on the same date. The case was adjourned to October 4 at Boston Magistrates’ Court.

Stephen Clarke, aged 26, of Harrowby Lane, Grantham, pleaded guilty to driving in Barrowby Road, Grantham, on October 13, 2022, when the proportion of a controlled drug, namely 3.6 microgrammes of Delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol in one litre of blood, exceeded the prescribed limit. He was banned from driving for 12 months and fined £467. Costs of £300 and a surcharge of £187 were ordered.

Owen Lorne, aged 24, of Thames Road, Grantham, pleaded guilty to harassment causing a woman to fear that violence would be used against her by his course of conduct which he knew or ought to have known would cause fear of violence to her on each occasion between August 1 and October 29, 2022, in Grantham. Lorne was given a 24-week prison sentence, suspended for 12 months. He was ordered to pay costs of £85.

Scott Fendley, aged 51, of Goodliff Road, Grantham, pleaded not guilty to driving on Goodliff Road, on February 15, 2022, when the proportion of a controlled drug, namely 341 micrograms of benzoylecgonine in one litre of blood, exceeded the prescribed limit. He was found guilty and was disqualified from driving for 12 months and fined £180. He was ordered to pay costs of £660 and a surcharge of £34. He pleaded guilty to failing to surrender to police/court bail on or about July 21, 2023. He was fined £120.

Victoria Wells, aged 33, of Thames Road, Grantham, pleaded guilty to the attempted theft of socks from B&M Bargains in Lincoln on July 23, 2023. The case was adjourned to August 29, 2023, for sentencing.

Kevin Sentance, aged 30, of Colne Court, Grantham, pleaded guilty to racially or religiously aggravated harassment on January 22, 2023, in Grantham, by using threatening or abusive words or behaviour or disorderly behaviour within the hearing or sight of a person likely to be caused harassment, alarm or distress. The case was adjourned to September 20, 2023, for sentencing at Lincoln Magistrates’ Court.

Michael Chinn, aged 19, of Huntingtower Road, Grantham, pleaded guilty to using theatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour against another person on February 18, 2023, in Grantham, and to assaulting another person by beating in Grantham on February 12, 2023. He was given a conditional discharge for a period of 12 months. He was ordered to pay costs of £85 and a surcharge of £26.

Kieran Walker, aged 32, of Riverside, Grantham, pleaded guilty to two counts of assault by beating of a police constable in Lincoln on May 23, 2023. He was was ordered to pay compensation amounts of £150 and £100. No ordered for costs was made.

Jessica Bailey, aged 27, of Huntingtower Road, Grantham, pleaded guilty to driving while disqualified in Huntingtower Road on July 12, 2023. She was banned from driving for three months and fined £160. She also pleaded guilty to driving without insurance and driving while using a hand-held mobile phone in Grantham on July 12, 2023. No separate penalties were made.

Kaspars Runkauskis, aged 38, of Ventnor Avenue, Grantham, pleaded guilty to drink driving in Dysart Road, Grantham, on July 3, 2023,after the proportion of alcohol measured 52 microgrammes in 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit is 35 microgrammes. He was banned from driving for six months and his licence endorsed with 10 penalty points. He was fined £133 and was ordered to pay costs of £85 and a surcharge of £53.
