Grantham Meres Leisure Centre given an ‘excellent’ rating by quality scheme
Grantham Meres Leisure Centre has achieved an ‘excellent’ rating by Sport England’s national quality scheme, Quest.
This is the first assessment the centre and its staff have undertaken since the modernisation of the centre earlier this year. In order to achieve Quest Plus, the leisure centre went through a rigorous process which included a mystery visit and a two-day assessment.
The areas where the centre scored particularly well were:
Team skills and development
Planning to improve
Environmental management
Swimming Lessons
Lifeguarding
James Cole, General Manager for 1Life at the Grantham centre said: “All of the staff deserve praise for how highly we scored during the whole process. It’s particularly pleasing to see that our swimming lesson programme and lifeguarding skills were scored highly and that the assessors could see the positive steps we make to continually evolve to meet our customers’ demands.”
SKDC’s portfolio holder for Arts, Leisure and Culture Coun Linda Wootten said: “It’s great news the Meres is building on its £600,000 investment with an excellent rating in this assessment.
“A team that is acknowledged to be planning to improve all the time can only mean a better facility for everyone in South Kesteven and Lincolnshire to enjoy.”
