Grantham teenager records her own Christmas song
A teenager has written and recorded her very own Christmas song.
Milly Dalton, 16, who lives in Grantham with parents Tracy and Martin, wrote ‘Santa’s coming home’ and recorded it in a studio in Tunbridge Wells.
She said: “I have always sang from a young age but it wasn’t until I went to Walton Girls’ school that I gained the confidence to start pursuing it more seriously. My music teacher was my inspiration.”
It only took Milly, who is currently studying Level 3 Music Performance at Nottingham College, a day to pen the song after her dad came up with the title.
She added: “I wrote it a few months ago after going for a walk with my parents. My dad just suddenly blurted out Santa’s coming home and I immediately thought that it was a great name for a song.”
Since uploading the festive song, which was produced by Paul Midcalf, on to her YouTube channel on Sunday, it has attracted hundreds of views.
Milly added: “It’s been mad. Everybody has said how much they love it. It’s been quite overwhelming.”
The song has also been played on the local radio and attracted an additional 100 subscribers to Milly’s YouTube channel.
Now that she has got her first taste in fame, Milly has got high hopes for the future.
She added: “I have always wanted a career in music. I would love to perform, write and record more music and get it out there.”
