785th sheep fair in Corby Glen will feature stalls, dance performance, dog show and beer festival

The country’s oldest sheep fair is back next month for the 785th time.

The Sheep Fair will take place in Corby Glen on the weekend of Saturday October 7 and Sunday October 8.

The weekend, which will be filled with activities for the whole family, will kick off with the “Doorman’s Fair” at 4pm on Friday October 6.

A sheep sale and farmers market on the Saturday will be held in Tanners Lane field.

On the Sunday, local businesses will be lining the streets of the village with stalls.

There will also be the Bailey Drew Sporting Challenge, open to teams of five of all ages, performances from The Dance Academy and a dog show in the school field.

The local pub, The Fighting Cocks, is holding ors annual beer festival running from Friday through to Sunday with live bands, real ales and food.

This will be the 785th sheep fair held in Corby Glen and it is believed to be the oldest sheep fair in the country.
