Join trip to deliver hospital A&E petition to Downing Street
Hospital campaigners will be taking a petition with 60,000 signatures on it to Downing Street next week.
SOS Grantham Hospital has been collecting signatures for the petition since May 2016 in opposition to the ‘strategic’ downgrade of Grantham Hospital A&E.
A coach will take campaigners to London on Friday, July 6, when the petition will be handed in at Downing Street in the afternoon.
Charmaine Morgan, chair of SOS Grantham Hospital, said: “We will be sending a strong message at this key time that we need our A&E. A huge thank you goes to Care2 for the on-line petition, Belton Lane School, all local campaigners, especially Jayne Dawson, and everyone who signed the petition. Thank you to AC Williams who have provided a coach at a discounted price.”
The coach will be leaving Ancaster at 8.40am with a pick-up at Grantham Hospital at 9am. A further pick-up
from Stamford is being considered.
The petition will be handed in at Downing Street at 1.30pm and there will be free time in London before returning at 5.30pm. Standard tickets are £20 each with £10 concessions and £5 for children. Former Grantham A&E manager Paul Lewis will be among those handing in the petition.
