Man to appear on trial accused of making and distributing indecent images of children in Grantham




A man will appear on trial at crown court accused of numerous offences of making and distributing indecent images of children in Grantham.

Alexander Mercer, aged 31, of Commercial Road, Grantham, appeared at Lincoln Magistrates’ Court on Thursday (June 8). He is accused of distributing six category B indecent still images and 31 category B moving images of children between September 22, 2014, and January 28, 2016, distributing 24 category A moving indecent images of children between the same dates, and distributing 24 category C indecent still images and one category C indecent moving image of children between those dates.

Mercer is also accused of making 56 still and 77 category B indecent images of children between September 15, 2014,and May 12, 2021, making 449 still and 15 moving category C indecent images of children between those dates, and making 47 still and 102 moving category A indecent images of children between those dates.

He is also accused of possessing six prohibited images of a child between September 15, 2014, and May 12, 2021.

Magistrates sent the case to Lincoln Crown Court where Mercer will appear on July 6.
