Man charged with murder of Tony McDermott in Grantham street

A man has been charged with the murder of 38-year-old Tony McDermott who died in Eton Street, Grantham, on Saturday.

Police have charged 37-year-old Nicholas Ward with the murder of Mr McDermott.

Ward, of Eton Street, Grantham, was charged yesterday afternoon (16 October) following ‘a fast-paced investigation’.

He has been remanded into custody and is due to appear at Lincoln Magistrates’ Court today (Tuesday).

Police say their investigation is ongoing. They were called to Eton Street in the early hours of Saturday morning following report a man had been found with serious injuries at a house in Eton Street.
