Grantham man rescues four kittens that had been ‘left to die’
A Grantham man rescued four kittens after finding them abandoned at the side of a road.
Paul Clark was walking his dog in Gorse Lane on Saturday afternoon when he found the four baby cats in a plastic storage box that had been taped up.
He explained that the box had been “dumped out of sight from the road” and that the kittens had “clearly been left to die”.
Paul found the box tipped over in nettles to the south of the water tower in Gorse Lane.
He said: “It was raining hard and water had got into the kittens, one of whom was shivering.
“The poor little, innocent souls have been taken to Avenue Vets of Grantham who are going to check them over and will ensure they are well looked after and get good homes.
“I am very grateful to them for doing that.”
Avenue Vets estimated that the kittens are around two weeks old.
