Radcliffe-on-Trent man Glen Widdowson faces a charge of causing the death of Aimi McCaffery, a married mum-of-two from Cropwell Butler

A 48-year-old man has been summonsed to court to face a charge of causing the death of a married mum-of-two by dangerous driving.

Aimi McCaffery, aged 46, from Cropwell Butler, died after she was hit by a BMW on Radcliffe Road, Cropwell Butler, at around 8.50am on May 15, 2022, despite the efforts of passers-by and the East Midlands Ambulance Service.

She was out jogging at the time.

Glen Widdowson, of Addington Court, Radcliffe-on-Trent, will appear at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, July 20, 2023.

Aimi’s family are being supported by specially-trained officers and have requested privacy at this difficult time.

In a tribute run in the days after the incident, the family said: “We feel like our world has collapsed. Aimi was the bedrock of our family and our grief is incomparable.

"We would like to ask for privacy as we come to terms with this horrific loss."
