Members of the public enjoyed rare chance to explore historic Harlaxton Manor near Grantham
A historic manor and gardens opened to the public, offering a rare opportunity for people to have a look around.
Harlaxton Manor, which is usually closed to the public, was open to be explored by guests on Saturday and Sunday,
Constructed in 1831, the 19th-century historic house serves as the UK campus of the University of Evansville.
The Grade I listed manor offers staterooms, eclectic architecture and hidden corridors as well as the formal gardens, with views across the Vale of Belvoir.
Both the manor’s interior and formal gardens were open for all to attend.
Guests were treated to live entertainment, including a trained harpist and two local choirs: the Harrowby Choir and the Capella Choir.
The manor will also be open for a special Christmas Open House on December 1 to 3 and 7 to 10.
