Memory Lane: A roaring good float through Grantham for the Queen’s Coronation

This magical float was paraded through Grantham for the Queen’s Coronation Parade.

The dragon can be seen below majestically making its journey down the High Street, outside Burton’s store. The above photo shows the magnificent creature being painted by, from left, Herbert Palin, Marigold Size and John Cocksworth. The latter was Terry Shelbourne’s former boss, and it is Terry we have to thank for these fab photos.
