Grantham mum leaves teaching job at primary school to launch private tutoring business
A mother of two is setting up a new private tutoring business after leaving her teaching job this summer.
Rebecca O’Callaghan, from Grantham, is set to launch ‘Tutoring With Mrs OC’ on Monday September 25, using her 12 years of experience as a primary school teacher.
She will offer private, group and online tutoring for all children, which she says will be “engaging, fun and fully tailored to their needs”.
“ I also offer specially designed workshops and clubs where your child can focus on key skills such as; reading, spelling, handwriting and maths,” added Rebecca.
Rebecca, originally from Muston, is married with two daughters, who are aged 15 and eight, and says that teaching is her “passion”.
She said: “I love nothing more than helping children develop their knowledge and understanding and achieve their personal academic goals and full potential.
“I am a fully qualified primary school teacher with over 12 years experience working in both mainstream and special education.
“My inspiration stems from my time as a classroom teacher and from my own children, one of which was diagnosed with dyslexia in Year 5.
“I have seen first hand the need for support and extra intervention to secure learning, but also to develop vital skills, such as confidence and self belief in making progress.
“With this in mind, I have taken the step to start my own business and offer personalised learning for all primary aged children.”
