Opening of new Co-op store in Grantham delayed by coronavirus
The opening of the new Co-op store on Springfield Road has been delayed by the coronavirus pandemic.
Despite plans to open the store in April, the recent outbreak of COVID-19 means that the opening has been postponed.
Due to be the first Lincolnshire Co-op store in the town, the development has cost a reported £1.5 million.

A spokesperson for Lincolnshire Co-op said: “We were planning to open a new food store on Springfield Road in Grantham at the beginning of April. Unfortunately, due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, we’re encountering staffing and delivery issues across our food business.
“This has meant we’ve had to delay the opening of our Springfield Road Food Store. We’re reviewing the situation on an ongoing basis and hope to open as soon as we can.”
The store will join existing Co-op branches, which include the travel agents based on High Street and Barrowby Gate Pharmacy.
