Morris & Kon Opticians in Grantham closes as owner retires, with patients moved to Lunettes Opticians in the George Centre
An independent opticians in Grantham has closed after the owner retired, with patients being moved to another practice.
Morris & Kon Opticians in St Catherine’s Road closed on April 7, as owner Yoon Morris took the decision to retire.
Patients have since been entrusted to a fellow independent practice, Lunettes Opticians, based in the George Centre.
The two practices worked together to ensure that patients could smoothly transition to an opticians that is just a short walk away.
Established in 1992, Lunettes Opticians lies at the heart of Grantham and the team were happy to welcome the patients to their new home.
Director of Lunettes Opticians, Tushar Majithia, said: “We’ve had a great working relationship with the Morris & Kon team and we’re looking forward to maintaining the personalised service and attention to detail that patients have come to love at Morris & Kon Opticians.”
Patients from Morris & Kon Opticians will also be able to take advantage of the latest state-of-the-art testing and dispensing equipment such as OCT and Visioffice, as well as an extensive range of frames.
All patient records from Morris & Kon Opticians, including contact lens details and supply, have been safely and confidentially transferred to the new premises at Lunettes Opticians.
Yoon added: “On behalf of my late husband John and myself, I would like to thank all our loyal patients who have been so supportive of the practice for many years.
“Having made a decision to retire, I am very pleased to entrust the ongoing care of our patients into the capable hands of my experienced professional colleagues Harshad Pancholi and Tushar Majithia at Lunettes.
“My very best wishes and grateful thanks to you all.”
Lunettes will continue to provide sight tests, contact lens fittings, aftercare and hearing care to patients.
