Event at Angel and Royal Hotel in Grantham raises money for Macmillan in memory of owner’s father and former King’s school teacher

An event held in memory of a former King’s schoolteacher at a historic hotel in Grantham raised over £500.

The owner of The Angel & Royal, Dean Harrison, joined with hotel regular Irene Shorrock to organise a Macmillan fund raiser coffee and cake morning last week.

It was held in memory of Irene’s husband, former King’s school teacher Graham Shorrock, who passed away last year, aged 69.

£505 was raised through the coffee and cake sales, plus a raffle with prizes kindly donated by local businesses and individuals.

The event also paid tribute to Dean’s father, Brian Harrison, who, like Graham, was helped and looked after by the Macmillan nurses in the past.
