Parade marks the start of St Wulfram’s Christmas Tree Festival
A popular Christmas tree festival kicked off with a parade through Grantham.
The sixth St Wulfram’s Christmas Tree Festival began yesterday evening (Tuesday) and will run until Sunday December 3.
A torchlit parade of around 100 people made its way from Market Place to St Wulfram’s Church, where the festival was officially opened by one of the church’s new choristers.
Father Stuart Cradduck, rector of St Wulfram’s, said prior to the procession that although the Christmas Tree Festival takes place in St Wulfram’s, it is “very much a Christmas Tree Festival for the town of Grantham and the local community”.
He added: “We hope to see lots of people come and admire the creativity of our local businesses, charities, and community groups.”
Entry to the Christmas tree festival is £3 per adult and free for children and carers.
A skating rink is once again available at the church to coincide with the festival. It was tested by the choir, much to their delight.
There are still slots available, which can be pre-booked by clicking here.
There will also be wreath-making workshops on Saturday December 9 and 16 at Grantham House.
