England's Finest Photography in Grantham reopens studio following break-in

Following a “devastating” burglary earlier this year, a family-run photography business is set to reopen its studio in Grantham.

England’s Finest Photography, based in The Old Malthouse, will reopen the studio tomorrow (Wednesday) to offer commercial, family and lifestyle photography.

The family run business, owned by Michelle and Chris England has been operating since June 2015, but was forced to temporarily close after a large amount of equipment was stolen in February this year.

Upon reopening, Michelle will specialise in photography of newborn babies to two-year-olds from the dedicated studio space, with Chris focusing on commercial work locally and nationally.

Michelle said: “The burglary was the worst experience ever as not only did the thieves take away our ability to work by stealing our cameras, but the feeling of violation that they had been through our studio was unbearable.

“We’ve worked so hard over the past eight years to make our spaces welcoming and to create unique props for our customers and it hurt us to think that these people felt that they could just take what they wanted.”

Michelle told the Journal that the decision to reopen was not taken lightly, but that she had missed meeting all the babies and their families.

“I love creating beautiful images for our customers, they are those precious memories that last forever, “ she continued.

“We are the only photographer locally with a dedicated newborn studio where you come to us and let us create the perfect image, we have had so many enquiries whilst we have been closed and it has been heart-breaking to turn people away.”

The commercial work will continue too with the company offering high end visual support to companies.

Michelle said: “We really value the work we do with local businesses to capture their images we’ve photographed everything from diamond rings to lawnmowers, fire safety cabinets to food.

“We have also completed work for South Kesteven District Council, we take the annual Mayor’s Portrait and work with local charities and businesses on their branding.”

The company has taken the time out to invest energy into re-designing its website www.efpics.co.uk, refreshing social media channels, creating new bespoke props which Michelle makes herself and reworking its photo packages.

Chris and Michelle are first aid trained, fully insured, DBS checked, and trained in newborn photography to ensure the safe wrapping and handling of babies.

Michelle added: “Sadly the photography industry is unregulated so making sure your photographer is trained and insured is essential.”
