Playtime with a safety message thanks to Grantham builder's donation
A housebuilder has donated hard hats and traffic cones to a school, bringing something a little different to playtime with an important message.
Lincolnshire developer David Wilson Homes made the donation to Poplar Farm Primary School in Grantham.
Sophie Gardiner, a sales adviser at the homebuilder’s nearby Newton’s Place development, presented the equipment accompanied by Reece Murphy, a teacher at the school. The equipment will be used to create a ‘construction area’ for the children to play in, allowing them to imagine what it would be like to work on a building site.
Headteacher Kate Hodson said: “The resources really enhance our outside learning space, and have enabled the children to show great imagination and curiosity. We would like to say a big thank you to David Wilson Homes.”
David Wilson Homes works with schools near their sites to educate children on the dangers of playing on building sites.
Rachael Harrison, Sales Director at David Wilson Homes East Midlands, said: “As a leading homebuilder we aim to engage with and support our local communities and we are delighted to have made this donation to Poplar Farm Primary School.
“We hope the donation will allow the pupils to add a new element to their playtime, while encouraging them to explore construction in a safe and imaginative way.”
