Lincolnshire Police stop abnormal loads at A1 services in Grantham





Police conducted checks on vehicles at an A1 service station, with multiple offences identified.

Lincolnshire Police’s Road Policing Unit worked yesterday (Tuesday) at the A1 Gonerby Moor services, conducting abnormal load checks.

The officers did this in partnership with the Driving Standards Agency and the Central Motorway Police Group.

Lincs Police’s Specialist Operations account on X (formerly Twitter) said that none of the checked vehicles conformed to guidelines, with one prohibited from moving for 48 hours.

Several other LGVs were stopped, with weight and tachograph offences identified. Drivers were reported for numerous offences during the operation.

Tachographs ensure drivers and employers follow the rules on drivers’ hours by recording information about driving time, speed and distance.
