Pupils sent home from Poplar Farm School in Grantham over lack of gas supply

Children have been sent home from a Grantham primary school over a lack of gas supply.

Pupils at Poplar Farm School in Helmsley Road have been evacuated from the building and sent home, after the school was alerted to an issue.

Parents were reportedly told that there is no gas supply to the school building and that their children were being sent home.

A school spokesperson said that they did not currently know what the issue with the gas was and that an engineer would not be expected for another four hours.

They said: “We don’t know what the cause is, so in the interests of being safe, we have got the children outside and they are being picked up.”
