A protest calling for a ceasefire in Gaza is set to be held in a Grantham park.

Saziya Mirza is organising a “pro-humanity” protest of the conflict currently happening in the Middle East at Wyndham Park on Sunday, October 29, for two hours from 1pm.

She has informed South Kesteven District Council of the demonstration, and will be notifying Lincolnshire Police.

Saziya, who has lived in Grantham for eight years, said: “It will be a peaceful demonstration for the Palestinians and to ask for a ceasefire.

“The only thing we have got is our voice.

“I have lived in Grantham for eight years, this is my home. I was born and bred in Britain. It is where I want to be.”

Saziya explained that she was “pro-humanity” and said that the main aim of the protest was “to bring a ceasefire”.

She added: “I hope people won’t come and cause problems, but it is a public space.

“God made us all with the same clay. That is what I believe.”
