Church of Ascension raises over £600 for Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance with ‘fantastic’ quiz night in Harrowby

A quiz night in Harrowby raised over £600 for a church and air ambulance charity.

The Church of the Ascension, based in Edinburgh Road, runs four quiz nights per year to provide a fun evening where the community can come together and to raise money for local charities and the church.

The quiz nights are free, with hot drinks and homemade cakes provided during the evening. The church only asks that people leave a donation for charity.

On Saturday, around 70 people took part in the latest quiz, which raised money for Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance.

The charity’s PR manager, Linda Patrick, attended the quiz and shared more about the organisation’s amazing work.

Reverend Sam Parsons, vicar of the Church of the Ascension, said: “Everyone said what a wonderful evening they had had and what great fun the quiz was. They were also delighted that we had raised so much money for such a worthy cause.

“On behalf of everyone at the Church of the Ascension, I would like to thank everyone who came and donated so generously.

“We were delighted that we raised more than we had ever raised at a quiz - £662.68!”

The quiz is written by a member of our church, Steve Wells, and he also hosts the event.
