Grantham DJ performs weekly sets during coronavirus lockdown

A mum-of-three from Grantham has been entertaining people on Friday nights with online DJ sets.

Rachel Mitchell, who performs under the name Ravin’ Rach, normally saves her DJing talents for family and friends and birthdays, but since the lockdown has been streaming sets every Friday from 8pm.

Ravin’ Rach’s latest live stream, on Friday, was viewed over 4,500 times on Facebook, with viewers tuning in from as far away as America.

Rachel, who plays a range of trance, dance and classic tunes from 2000s, said: “The feedback I had was overwhelming.

“I have an autistic son called Tyler, who’s 17. He’s non-verbal and enjoys the music I play. I use LED lights on my set which other children like Tyler might find quite sensory.

“Day-to-day I’m a busy mum, especially with the schools being closed, but I have passion with everything I do.”
