Rotary Club of Grantham chain passes on to new president Glenys
Glenys Robertson has taken over as president of the Rotary Club of Grantham for the year 2019/20.
Glenys received her chain of office from outgoing president Ray Klingels at a handover meeting at Belton Park Golf Club.
She thanked Ray for all his hard work and said she felt honoured to be leading such a committed hard working group of people within the club.
Glenys retired a few years ago from teaching health and social care, having been a ward sister for many years, then having her own small nursing home for 20 years on the east coast before moving to Grantham five years ago to be near her sister.
She said being a Rotarian and a churchwarden at All Saints Church in Barrowby keeps her very busy. During her year she said we will support local charities and The Rotary Foundation, the wider charity which funds the immunisation programme to finally rid the world of polio, amongst other projects worldwide, and at the same time enjoy the fun and fellowship that Rotary brings.
She added: "I also look forward to attending local functions during my time as president, as well as giving service to local schools to prepare young people for work or further education."
