Santa will switch on the lights at Grantham's Christmas spectacular

Grantham’s St Peter’s Hill green will be transformed into a festive wonderland for Christmas on the Green, on Sunday, November 25.

A highlight of the event will once again be the Winter Wonderland in Abbey Gardens, a marquee adorned with Christmas trees, fairy lights and decorations.

The path through will lead to reindeer and Santa sitting in his grotto, outside which children can write and post letters to Santa - with each and every one getting a reply.

Visitors to the festive event can browse stalls, go on fairground rides, look round vintage fire engines, watch a live programme of entertainment and more.

There will also be a tea tent selling refreshments, ice sculpting and more.

Mass carol singing - led by St Wulfram’s Choir - will begin at around 4.15pm in front of the Guildhall, following the blessing of the Christmas tree on the green. Santa will then switch on the lights, accompanied by Ryan Blair, who is a member of the Grantham Disabled Children Society. This will signal the start of a firework finale from the Guildhall roof.

Christmas on the Green is on between 10am and 4.30pm.

Parking will be free in all South Kesteven District Council car parks (Guildhall Street, Watergate, Welham Street, Wharf Road and Conduit Lane) throughout the day.
