Grantham Sunrise Rotary want schools to get involved with non-uniform day in aid of End Polio Now

An organisation is running an initiative to get Grantham schools to hold a non-uniform day to raise money for the world polio cause.

Grantham Sunrise Rotary Club is hoping to get local schools to participate in the non-uniform days in a bid to support the End Polio Now project.

Isaac Newton School has already committed to the cause, but the rotarians are bidding to get other schools on board.

The club’s newest member, Chloe Rollings, is leading the drive to get the community involved.

Chloe said: “The three Rotary clubs in Grantham are coming together for World Polio Day on Tuesday October 24 and, as one of the schools that work closely with Rotary, we would love for you to join us.

“To raise awareness of the impact of polio and the work that rotary are doing to help end polio, we are going to be hosting a Purple for Polio Day where we ask people to wear purple.

“We know that this day falls in the half term for some schools and so we are hoping to invite schools to hold their Purple for Polio day on Friday October 20.

“We will share a resource pack including posters and videos for teachers to share with students.

“We are keen for schools to also benefit from being involved in rotary activities so would look for this to be a partnership event with the school where 50p for every £1 raised goes towards End Polio Now, allowing for some of the money raised to be reinvested in the school.

“If this is something you would like to be involved in, or if you would like more information, it would be great to hear from you.”
