A1 Southbound near Newark closed, with reports it is due to flooding

A section of the A1 has been closed due to flooding.

The A1 Southbound near Newark, between Fernwood and Long Bennington, is reported to be closed by the AA.

The closure is reported by motorists to be caused by flooding on the road.

Delays of up to half an hour are being experienced by drivers on the southbound carriageway, between Fernwood and South Muskham.

There are also delays of half an hour in both directions at Long Bennington, stretching to Grantham.

There is also severe traffic on the A46 in both directions at Newark.
