Sinkhole appears outside Grantham properties
A sinkhole has appeared outside Grantham properties at the weekend.
The hole appeared on Sunday (October 22) on a green space outside properties in Tissington Road, Grantham.
Luke Chambers, who lives in a nearby property, said he was “shocked” when he first spotted it.
He added: “[I am] now worried as it’s growing and now getting closer to ours and other properties.
“Also, it can be a busy green for children and adults alike, so having it closed off is not great.”
Lincolnshire Police have cordoned off the green space for public safety.
South Kesteven District Council were contacted on the problem.
A spokesperson for SKDC said: “A team from South Kesteven District Council attended on Sunday and taped off the perimeter.
“Further checks were made today (Monday) and the developer has been contacted.
“They have been asked to visit the site and ensure there is no risk to the public and take the necessary remedial action.”
Persimmon Homes is the developer and they have been contacted for more information.
