South Kesteven District Council elections 2023: Belvoir

A long-standing councillor has said that the role is part of her life, after being re-elected alongside a new member.

Councillor Pam Bosworth (Con) will represent the Belvoir ward on South Kesteven District Council with Councillor Robert Leadenham (Con).

Coun Bosworth has been on SKDC for 25 years, but believes this could be her last term.

She said “We are going to see change. ”Change is sometimes good, but we will see.”

People ask why I bother [being a councillor] and I say it’s part of my life. I have enjoyed it so much.

“I think it will be my last term as a councillor, a lot can happen in four years.

“I like the fact that my ward is so rural. The villages are beautiful and I am there for all the parishioners if needed.”

Coun Leadenham said he was “very happy” to be elected and that the campaign was “an experience.”

“Pam’s a seasoned pro,” he added.

Coun Leadenham has lived in the ward for nearly 50 years and will “work hard to meet the needs of residents of all ages”.

There was a 35.75 per cent turn out. The results were: Pam Bosworth (Con) 901 votes, Robert Leadenham (Con) 791 votes, Julian Simpson (Lab) 505 votes.
