Representatives of Grantham bring fresh approach
It is now some six months since I was honoured and privileged to be elected to the District Council as Ward Councillor for Grantham Arnoldfield, writes Paul Stokes of Grantham Independents.
I have been amazed by just how much effort representatives of the community are prepared to put in for the benefit of Grantham and will continue to work as closely as possible with these stalwarts in their various guises to enrich their effort for the benefit of all.
I have enjoyed meeting and hearing from people in Arnoldfield both formally and casually and am inspired by their commitment to represent you to the highest order.
I am a member of the Grantham Independents, only one of whom was a previous Councillor, and the team of widely experienced professionals has brought a fresh approach to the role of community representation, not fearing to get their feet on the ground and hands dirty, in looking to improve the whole experience of living, working or playing in Grantham.
This will be highlighted in the build-up to Christmas this year, where we are determined that the town will get a true Christmas feel ahead of December 25.
In my role as Cabinet member for culture and leisure I am able to pass on my experience in several strategic matters but am delighted by the way our arts and leisure centres are increasing numbers post covid.
Remember to come down to the Christmas Fayre and Lights on December 3 - it will be great and get your tickets for the Guildhall pantomime, which is selling fast.
