Grantham group Ultra '90s play Nottingham Arena
A '90s dance anthem group from Grantham will perform to thousands of people tonight at the Motorpoint Arena in Nottingham.
Ultra '90s was set up by Kelly Borkertas and Chris Wade, of Grantham, in 2008 and the band has been going from strength to strength ever since.
Ultra '90s hails as “the first and only '90s dance tribute show in the UK and possibly the world!”.
With over 3,000 tickets sold already out of a possible 4,000, all of which are standing, the band hopes the atmosphere inside the arena will be electric.
Kelly, lead vocalist of Ultra 90s, said: “We’re very excited for Saturday because it’s local. I’ve heard that there’s minibuses coming from Grantham.”
Popular 1990s artists will be performing alongside the Ultra '90s live band.
Also taking to the stage will be Cappella, Urban Cookie Collective, Baby D, Livin’ Joy ft. Luzahnn and Kelly Llorenna.
These massive names from the ‘90s dance genre will all be backed by the Ultra 90s band, a video wall, costumes, lighting, lasers and dancers.
Each artist will perform a 15-minute set, with Ultra 90s performing in-between to ensure that the show runs seamlessly.
There will be 18 more shows after Saturday that will run with the same format, eight of these taking place before May this year.
These upcoming shows are taking place across the UK in some impressive venues, such as the M&S Bank Arena in Liverpool on Friday, April 3, the Brighton Centre on May 23 and Kings Hall in Stoke-on-Trent on February 22.
When asked what attendees can expect from Saturday and any further gigs, Kelly said: “A trip back to the 90s. All of the feel-good anthems that they remember.
“I’ll be doing vocals with 90s artists doing their sets throughout.”
Ultra 90s celebrated its 11th anniversary last December. The show still aims to takes guests on an unforgettable journey straight back to their youth and the 1990s dance era.
Kelly added: “We are still doing all of our usual gigs like weddings and parties, but not as many.”
One Facebook reviewer of Ultra 90s gave the group a ringing endorsement.
They said: “These guys are incredible! The atmosphere they create is infectious and they put on a cracking performance! If you get the opportunity to see them, go! You will never be disappointed.”
