Update: Anger as large tree branch blocks Grantham footpath a week after it fell
A Grantham business owner is angry that a partially fallen tree has still not been removed nearly a week after it fell.
The large tree branch has been blocking a section of the footpath on the corner of Watergate and Vine Street after it fell during heavy winds last Wednesday.
Wednesday Bergeron, who owns The Magic Cottage on Vine Street is concerned about the risk it poses to the public.
She said: "It has nearly been seven days since it fell and still nothing has been done. This junction is used in particular by school children and vulnerable people using the doctors surgery all day.
"I think it’s irresponsible to be so lax in dealing with this."
The local highways manager said: "We've asked our contractor to get the branches cleared as a matter of urgency.
We apologise for any inconvenience caused. To report a highways fault, visit www.lincolnshire.gov.uk/faultreporting or call 01522 782070."
