Electronic bus boards launched across Lincolnshire, including in Grantham, Bourne, Stamford and Spalding
New digital bus boards are up and running across the county, with more due to be installed.
The information boards have been launched across Lincolnshire, including Bourne, Stamford, Grantham and Spalding.
The first wave of boards are up and running, which includes 24 large boards at larger bus stations and 40 smaller displays, known as e-papers, at roadside bus stops.
Lincolnshire County Councillor Richard Davies (Con), executive member for highways, said: “Being able to bring real time bus information to Grantham, Bourne and Stamford as well as stations and stops across the whole county is a real improvement.
“We will roll more of these out in bus stations and bus stops across Lincolnshire so that live details of each journey, as it happens, will be available to bus users.
“The system will be a real change for everyone who uses the bus and continues our successful ongoing campaign to get even more people back on these improved public transport services.”
South Kesteven District Council has been working with LCC in deciding on locations for the boards in the district.
Councillor Richard Cleaver (Ind), the district council’s cabinet member for property, said: “We have been working with the county council during the past few months to agree the location, design and paperwork for the installation of these boards so that they can bring a better experience for everyone using the buses.
“We hope that this, in turn, will increase the use of public transport and therefore help contribute to the council’s ambition to reduce their carbon footprint.”
Work on the boards is set to be completed by the end of March.
