Grantham personal stylist ‘Mrs Stylewright’ praises networking opportunities at Grantham Business Club meetings

The benefits of business networking are the focus in the latest column by Grantham Business Club. Executive committee member Michelle Wright writes:

As a small fledgling business, networking is so important to me and local networking even more so.

Cost and time are major factors, so as much as I would like to go to every networking group, it’s just not possible, consequently I have to make choices and Grantham Business Club is one of my choices.

Yes, it’s an early morning and yes, I drag myself there, bleary eyed, but I am always pleased that I did because it’s good to catch up with the regulars and there are always new faces to get to know, like and trust – you know the drill.

This is particularly important to me as a personal stylist as people are my business, and no, not everyone in the room will be my client but everyone has a significant other, a friend or a neighbour that might be.

And it’s not just about potential clients, I meet people who can help me with so many aspects of my work, from tech to photography. I started up Mrs Stylewright (personal stylist and colour analysist) after being a stay-at-home mum for 15 years, therefore I had a lot to learn!

I mostly attribute what I have discovered over the past couple of years to the people I have met at networking events.

So, why Grantham Business Club? Aside from the fact that it’s really welcoming, and the people are friendly, there is a structure giving everyone the opportunity to chat informally, some structured networking around the table, and presentations from local businesses.

Every month I leave with ideas buzzing, questions answered and a spring in my step for what’s to come in my business.
